Harnessing the power of real-time data to ensure sustainable water resources and soil health. In a significant effort to ensure sustainable water resources for future generations, a collaborative project is underway in Pune district.

What is Digital Water Management?

The Digital Water Management Project is an innovative initiative focused on monitoring and analyzing real-time data on surface water, groundwater, weather parameters, water quality, wastewater, and soil health. By leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and advanced testing methods, the project aims to provide actionable insights and solutions for sustainable water and soil management.

Through this collaborative effort, the project aims to make a significant impact on water sustainability in Pune district. By combining community involvement, digital technology, and a focus on water conservation, the initiative is poised to create a more sustainable future for all.

What will this project do

This project will help people learn more about water management, get involved directly, and create a culture of sustainability.

Participants will collect data on 7 key parameters related to water. This will help us understand each problem and find solutions for issues and concrns like:

Monitoring and Measuring

All sources of water, including ground, surface water, waste water and water used for  irrigation purposes.

Testing Water Quality

Regular testing of sources of drinking water, water for irrigation, and wastewater.

Monitoring Soil Health

Testing soil for nutrients, pollutants  and microbes in the soil.

Noting Weather Factors

Using rain gauges and weather measuring kits provided. Understanding humidity, temperature, and allied parameters.
